Thursday, July 15, 2010 Zelie Roundup Horse Parade The Zelie Round-Up Parade will be returning this year with more horses, teams and wagons. The parade will march the length of Main Street at 7 pm on Thursday, July 15, led by the newly-crowned Little Miss and Mr. Horse Trader. Riding clubs, 4H clubs, equestrian teams, and farmers with hitches are all welcome to join in. Children wishing to ride the street on their stick horses are invited as well. Volunteers will be needed to monitor the crowd and help clean up the street. Participants will receive a free Horse Trading Days t-shirt and a goodie bag. NOTE - So that the newly crowned Little Miss and Mr. Horse Trader can ride in the Zelie Roundup Parade, the pageant rehearsal will be held on Tuesday evening and the finals and crowning will take place on Wednesday evening. - Interested participants must be between the ages of 4 and 7, and will be judged on poise, personality and talent. Children should be dressed in costume of choice. Children need to reside within a 12-mile radius of Zelienople to be eligible to participate. Contest will be limited to the first 10 boys and 10 girls to sign up. Friday, July 16 Car Cruise 5 - 7 PM; Location TBD - Bring your best girl and stroll down memory lane with some of the area’s best classic cars and oldies music. Just makes you wanna find them old saddle shoes, don’t it? Participating car owners will receive a free goodie bag while supplies last. Free to the public. Saturday, July 17 Paws in the Park Horse Trading Days "Paws in the Park" is a benefit dog walk for the Butler County Humane Society that will take place on Saturday, July 18 from 9 AM to 1 PM. For a nominal donation, the public can walk a dog around paths in the Zelienople Community Park. For your donation you will also receive a “doggie bag” of goodies. The primary purpose for Paws in the Park is to raise money and awareness for the Butler County Humane Society. Paws in the Park is all about families and their pets and to promote responsible pet ownership, care, and education. You will meet animal care professionals, learn about doggie daycare, nutrition, training, boarding, veterinary care, and more. There will also be a Rabies Clinic as well as a Microchip Clinic on site. All participating dogs must be vaccinated, have rabies tags, be people and pet-friendly, and be on a leash. Saturday, July 17 Bike Night 6 - 8 PM; 3B's Restaurant & Lounge (309 S. Main St) - Wander on over to the B's - that's 3B's Restaurant & Lounge - to see some of the coolest bikes in town. Play a game of pool or darts, down a frosty mug, & enjoy the festival on two wheels. Participating bikers will receive a free goodie bag while supplies last. Free to the public. |
